Senior Developer
.NET Core

POSITION SUMMARY

At Optii, we design, build, market, and maintain intelligent tools for hotels to thrive in the modern world. Our product is utilized by some of the top hotels in the world, and the company’s growth is accelerated by the COVID crisis and limitless with the addition of great talent.

The Senior Developer is a core member of the development team and is responsible for the speedy and smooth development of new integrations with other hospitality solutions. He/she communicates with partners to design, develop and support interfaces with systems of varying sophistication to work with Optii’s REST APIs.

This role demands an innovative and motivated individual with well developed technical capabilities and exceptional verbal and written communication skills. The role will work with the technical team in an Agile environment to efficiently create, design, implement, and test solutions for our clients/projects. It is earmarked to lead a team planned to grow to 2 developers dedicated to integrations within the next 12 months.

THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Helping build and lead a new efficient development team and help set the direction for the company’s integration strategy

  • Engaging with partner vendors to design, map, develop and then test & certify integrations to a partner’s solution

  • Designing and developing with cutting edge technologies such as microservices, containers, as well as some legacy implementations

  • Developing clean and elegant code (including unit test cases) with a high attention to detail

  • Creating an appropriate level of documentation for coding implementations such that other team members can easily understand what was built or needs to be built

  • Design, develop, recommend, and get buy-in for coding standards and best practices to follow for any given project.

  • Translate requirements into fully functional microservices with a high standard for coding best practices

  • Reviewing developer implementations and provides feedback during code reviews

  • Mentoring/training team members in development best practices and languages

CORE COMPETENCIES/KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Experience developing enterprise applications using the latest .NET Core

  • Development experience with microservices, REST interfaces, and services running in multiple instances

  • Development experience with Kubernetes and Docker

  • Development experience with SQL (Postgresql preferred) and No-SQL databases

  • Demonstrated experience with Agile, TDD, CI/CD, and unit testing

  • Aptitude and desire to learn, apply, and espouse new technical concepts

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Must be a self-motivated, creative problem-solver with strong attention to detail

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • 3+ years experience developing enterprise applications using .NET Core

  • Development experience with API Servers

  • Development experience with messaging queues or websockets

  • Familiarity with hospitality industry and workflow/task management systems

  • Detail orientation and strong follow-through on personal and team tasks

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Availability for flexible scheduling to accommodate international team collaboration with both Optii staff and partners located in different timezones.
