Our technology plays a key role in our clients’ operations around the world. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Optii Solutions employs team members in offices across the US, Australia, and Asia.

We are looking for a Product Owner (PO)  to join our team who has a passion for defining and delivering highly valued products in an Agile way.  In this role, you will be the voice of the customer for our Product Development team to make sure that everything we build is aligned with our product vision, roadmap, customer values, and solves the right customer challenges.

The successful candidate will be responsible for::

Validating, Communicating, and Supporting Product Direction, Acceptance, Release

  • Working closely with the Sr. Product Director and Principal UX/UI Designer to validate product assumptions through surveys, interviews, usability tests, A/B testing, etc

  • Working closely with Scrum Master and team to make sure the team is working on the appropriate priorities

  • Demoing product to internal and external stakeholders as needed

  • Helping to manage internal, beta, and external releases of the product

  • Helping build and maintain the product roadmap in conjunction with the Sr. Director of Product and other business leaders

  • Helping Define KPIs, monitors and reports on business and customer metrics/outcomes for the product

The Product Backlog

  • Prioritizing User Stories against business value to achieve MVP

  • Creating and grooming of the product backlog, and provides context for the product vision, product strategy, and requirements

  • Creating supporting diagrams, documentation, and sample content to better articulate requirements

  • Defining clear Acceptance Criteria so that the team understand when the story is done

  • Breaking features, epics and stories down, adding further detail on a just-in-time basis

  • Reviewing technical documentation, test cases, and UI/UX designs to validate the requirements are being met


Leading or Participating in Key Sprint Ceremonies and Relevant SDLC Processes

  • Leading Grooming ceremonies

  • Participating in other crucial Sprint ceremonies and SDLC processes such as release and sprint planning, stand-ups, demos, retrospectives, technical design sessions, test case reviews, etc

  • Motivating the team by reminding them why our products are so important

  • Answering any formal or informal questions around the product requirements

  • Collaborating with the team, Scrum Master and Stakeholders to employ Agile methods, processes, tools and metrics to deliver value and continuous improvement

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in computer science or related field

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience as a Product Owner or related field 

  • Working knowledge of Agile practices. Understands the fundamentals of iterative development, incremental delivery, backlog management, burn down metrics, velocity and task definition

  • A natural leader, who can motivate a group of technical colleagues towards a business goal, gain credibility, garner respect, guide the creation of a self-organizing team and be assertive with business priorities

  • A decision maker; able to make fact based decisions quickly, often based on limited information

  • An effective communicator and collaborator that can help drive alignment and resolution

  • Must be a self-motivated, creative problem-solver with strong attention to detail, and a positive influence to the team

  • Ability to work with product and engineering stakeholders to assess and remediate potential risks

  • Aptitude and desire to learn, apply, and espouse new technical concepts 

Nice to have:

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner, PMPO, Scrum

  • Knowledge of technical concepts, architectural principles to drive scalable solutions
